A daily game for everyone who loves maps and New York City.

How it works

Every day, we choose 5 places around New York City and that players must guess the location of. Each day has a theme and locations include cross streets, landmarks, buildings, and subway stations.

After every tap you see how close you were and a short story about the place. When you finish, you'll see how the five stops fit together.

Scoring

Each round is worth up to 100 points, so a perfect day is 500. Get within about 150 feet of a street corner (250 feet for buildings, stations and sites) and you score the full 100. Farther out, points fall off smoothly: a corner one short block away still scores around 80, about a fifth of a mile away scores around 40, and being a mile off still earns about 10 points. Challenge your friends to beat your score!

Where the stories come from

Each place's story is a short summary written from Wikipedia and the other sources we checked while researching it. Corrections are welcome on the ideas page.
